Net Review of Patent Applications Speeds Process

Calif. Bar Site Clicks on Money Without Dues

‘Blocking’ Statutes Bring Discovery Woes

Court: Disputes Exist Over Whether Bipolar Disorder Is ‘Mental Illness’

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Issues of fact exist over whether a claimant’s bipolar disorder was properly classified as a “mental illness,” an appeals court ruled March 28, reversing a grant of partial summary judgment (Jane Fitts v. Unum Life Insurance Company of America, No. 07-7097, D.C. Circuit; 2008 U.S. App. LEXIS 6451).

Judges Allow Rust-Oleum To Pursue Indemnity Claim In Defective Spray Can Case

INDIANAPOLIS - An appeals panel on April 8 reversed summary judgment granted to a can manufacturer, ruling that a spray paint company may pursue its indemnity claim (Carl F. Fitz and Theresa Fitz v. Rust-Oleum Corp., No. 71A04-0704-CV-209, Ind. App.; 2008 Ind. App. LEXIS 705).
