U.S. Supreme Court To Hear Debt Collection Case Relating To Foreclosed Home
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari on June 29 in a case in which the petitioner is asking whether a debt collector’s legal error qualifies for the bona fide error defense under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) (Karen L. Jerman v. Carlisle, McNellie, Rini, Kramer & Ulrich, et al., No. 08-1200, U.S. Sup.).
